The Intermodal Terminal ČD-DUSS Lovosice, a.s. carries out transhipments of semi-trailers, manipulatable superstructures, tank containers and sea containers of all sizes for its customers on the basis of public and non-discriminatory access.As part of the services, administrative clearance of both rail and road transports and the issue of the relevant documents for the clearance of each mode of transport is a matter of course.
Customers can rely on a comprehensive and safe clearance of units and goods. A temporary bonded warehouse and customs area is available for shipments under customs supervision, both on the relevant handling area and in a covered logistics hall with an internal rail connection. All areas are secured and controlled by a security camera system with recording equipment.
Container terminal
Combined transport is one way to get goods from road to rail. The container terminal provides an active way of cooperation between rail and road carriers. It handles handling semi-trailers, swap bodies, tank containers and sea containers of all sizes. Of course, it offers customs clearance, storage of units in temporary bonded warehouses and use of bonded space. Customers can rely on the clearance and management of road transport and distribution following rail transport and the administrative clearance of each mode of transport. The terminal also has an internal logistics warehouse of 2,500 m² for short-term storage of goods, as well as consolidation and dispatch of shipments and temporary customs storage of goods, including securing customs debt. Another option is the storage of transport units with refrigeration or heating, or the placement of these units in a space specifically designed for the storage of dangerous goods.
The intermodal units are handled on a 12,000 m² handling area using five different lengths of track. An additional 15,000 m² is available for storage and depot of intermodal units. From the two main tracks, it is possible to depart complete trains directly with an electric traction locomotive. The capacity of the terminal is 1,000 TEU and 250 handling trailers.
Lovosice was not chosen for the construction of the terminal by chance. There is a connection to the main railway corridor via Děčín and Bad Schandau to Germany, a connection to the D8 motorway and theoretically the nearby port in Prosmyky can be used. Last but not least, the terminal has the advantage of being located in an industrial area, where the combination of rail and road transport and additional logistics activities is directly available.
One of the first customers of the ČD-DUSS Terminal was the Hangartner company using the line to Hamburg-Billwerder station. This was followed by tank container and semi-trailer services from EWALS and CSAD Logistics to Duisburg, LKW Walter to Rostock and P&O Ferrymasters to Rotterdam. The company also has experience with overseas container shipments with connections via the ports of Hamburg, Rotterdam and Bremerhaven, as well as rail connections with complete trains from China. However, the portfolio of customers using the terminal is changing, as are the train routes serving the terminal. Currently, trains departing from Lovosice connect the ČD-DUSS Terminal with terminals in Lehrte, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Zeebrugge.
Trucking
Intermodal terminal ČD-DUSS Lovosice, a.s. provides road collection and delivery of transport units for our customers with a connection to the railway. All trucking vehicles are insured for cargo and other insurance products such as freight forwarding and handling liability insurance. Quotations and vehicle capacity on request.
Logistics services
A 2,500 m² covered warehouse including an indoor track is available on site. This offers direct transshipment of goods between road and rail. Customers can use this logistics space for quick transshipment of goods, but long-term storage is also an option. For customers and goods from third countries, the possibility of storing goods in a temporary bonded warehouse is important.
Mechanisation is used for the handling of goods with the possibility of unloading containers, rail wagons and road trailers. The company is ready to react to extraordinary shipments in a very flexible way and we can prepare unloading, loading and transhipment of very oversized shipments by means of rented special equipment or in cooperation with a supplier company.
Customs services
Customs services are a matter of course in the logistics centre. The temporary customs warehouse within the container terminal handling area and the internal logistics warehouse comply with all legal standards. We can offer our customers a comprehensive administrative service consisting of customs clearance including documentation and securing of customs debt. We can also prepare and arrange for the eventual physical customs inspection of goods with the arrival of an intermodal unit for this inspection.
